Shawn from AutotopiaLA met up with Russ in December 2021 to do a reel on his 1964 Mercury Comet. The car has a 632 Merlin big block Chevrolet engine topped with a 14-71 BDS Blower and puts out 1,300 horsepower. The project cost Russ “23 years, $208K dollars, and two wives” to build.

During filming, the Mercury Comet has brake failure causing the car to slam into the back of a minivan at approximately 45 mph causing injuries to both the driver and passenger.
