Dan at DD Speed Shop is putting fresh binders on the ’57 Chevy Bel Air with a universal disc brake conversion kit from The Right Stuff Products.
This kit can be used on most older Chevy’s (see all makes/applications) and uses some simple bracketry to retrofit GM single-piston front brakes.
In theory, this should have been an easy install, but as things sometimes go, it fought him pretty hard — but that’s what makes DIY hot rodding real. Fun.
I think most of the problems happened in the first half — then it was pretty much smooth sailing to the finish line…
I had a few loose lines and I needed to do a quick driveway wheel alignment so it would track straight down the road…
The Right Stuff Disc Brake Conversion Kits are the most complete kits in the industry at the right price — High-quality components, professional packaging, application-specific fit and function, and after-sale support by “hands-on” technicians that create an unbeatable value.
The company has multiple options available from drilled and slotted rotors, powder coated calipers, performance upgrades, and underhood components.
