How To Turn Pump Gas Into High Octane Race Fuel

Roadkill Customs has used Race Gas fuel concentrate in their builds for years — because it works!

Race Gas is a fuel concentrate that can be added to pump gas to raise the octane a full 4 points per 2 ounces of mix.

That means you can take 93 octane pump gas and mix it up to 105, eliminating the need for distilled race fuel. There’s a mixing table on the back of the container that lets you tailor your octane what you need.

You can mix Race Gas anywhere there’s a gas pump and it’s catalytic converter safe.

For this demonstration, Pat adds 3 ounces per gallon to 87 octane pump gas which will bring it up to 93 octane. After pouring Race Gas in, simply shake the container to make sure it mixes completely.

Is There Actually a Benefit to Putting High Octane Fuel in a Low Octane Engine?

Many videos tell you why there is no benefit to running high octane fuel in a car that only calls for low octane, but none of them seem to cover this one case that is relevant more often than you may think.

If you have ever met someone that claimed 93 octane made their engine run better than 87 octane, they might not just be experiencing the placebo effect!
