Most here consider themselves a hot rodder, and Vlad from Invincible Extremes is no exception — an ordinary shop truck or moving van just won’t work.

In need of a truck to move his family and project car collection across the country, he teamed up with Mad Scientist Garage and bought the ultimate shop truck: a rare 1 year only 1970 Buick Estate Wagon.

This hulk of American steel is powered by a factory Stage 1 455 and backed by a TH400 automatic transmission and heavy-duty rear axle. With seating for 9, an OEM hitch receiver, and 510ft-lb of torque bone stock, you’d be hard-pressed to find a better all-round rig for the job under $5k.

Before it gets put to work hauling American Muscle all over the US, check out what it took to get this barn find Beast back on the road and ready to be the ultimate shop truck…

In order to get the Beast more planted and sitting right, the front springs were swapped out for 2″ lowering springs for a big block Chevy Impala. Thanks in part to the uncommon lug pattern, a deal came up on some 18″ Riddler wheels to fit wider and more common tires.

Now that it’s got a meaner look, new rubber, and a functioning brake system, it’s about time to put this neglected relic to a real test — taking a whole stack of muscle cars and an entire family on the ultimate American Road Trip to their new home…
