Medusa ~ Viper V10 Powered 1971 Plymouth Barracuda Build

1971 Plymouth Barracuda
Medusa ~ A 1971 Plymouth Barracuda

This car was built by All Speed Customs in Muskegon, MI — They started with a regular 1971 Barracuda, then they went crazy!

This ’71 Plymouth ‘Cuda dubbed “Medusa” catches the eyes with unique body mods like extended quarter panels, shaved drip rails, door handles from an Aston Martin, rear diffuser panel with a center-exit exhaust that was adapted from a Ferrari and more complemented by one-off 20-inch Forgeline wheels, and of course, a killer paint job.

The car rides on a Roadster Shop FastTrack chassis with C6 Corvette front suspension and a four-link rear with Penske double-adjustable coilovers. The team fitted a Dodge Viper V10 motor beefed up to 750 horsepower that’s bolted to a paddle-shifter controlled six-speed automatic transmission which delivers torque to a Strange Engineering 9-inch rear end.

For binders, the team went with 14” Wilwood disc brakes: 6-piston rotors in front and 4-pistons in the rear. The brakes are engaged with the help of a Hydratech power brake assist to make it stop on a dime without putting the pedal through the floor. The wheels are custom Forgeline’s that measure 20×10” front and 20×12” rear wrapped in 335/30ZR20 Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires.

The interior is pretty wild as well. The dashboard and center console are completely made by hand, first built of sheet metal and then molded in carbon fiber. There is an iPad in the vertical orientation (like the screen in a Tesla Model S) in the center of the dash, featuring a GPS and full audio controls…
