1968 Chevrolet C10 Crew Cab Truck (Re)Build

1968 Chevrolet C10 Crew Cab Truck (Re)Build

This truck started out as a Suburban that was chopped behind the third door and a truck cab was grafted on the back.

Whoever did the work originally did it right — they used the tops of the truck doors instead of leaving the square tops that so many people do when trying to build a truck like this.

The top skin was cut off and laid back down an inch or so lower to get rid of the high roof on the stock Suburbans. Then it was placed on a 1980s crew cab long bed frame and adjusted to fit.

From the builder, Kevin:

I will be doing all the panel and rust repair as well as a full build-up. The owner’s plans for it are to fix all the rust, shorten chassis 12″, cut the longbed to shortbed, and install a 1991 Suburban 42 gallon fuel tank under the rear and add a gas filler door to the passenger bedside.

The truck gets a 1991 Suburban TBI 454 Big Block engine, AOD and T-case, 4″ lift and 35″ tires, Painless Performance Wiring Harness, body worked, and firewall smoothed…
