How To Install A Transmission Temperature Gauge

A Transmission Temperature Gauge allows you to monitor the operating temperature of your transmission by measuring the transmission fluid’s temperature.

Overseeing these temperatures assists in ensuring that your transmission does not overheat, possibly causing major damage.

Why You Need a Transmission Temperature Gauge

Installing a transmission temperature gauge is the best way to prevent overheating as it allows you to track the transmission temperature to ensure it is working at peak efficiency. The ideal fluid temperature is between 175° to 225° F, where temperatures above this can start to lead to damage.

The Temperature Gauge can warn you when excessive heat is reached and may possibly be ruining the transmission fluid or damaging the transmission.

This can be a helpful tool for any vehicle with an automatic transmission, as well as diesel trucks that tow heavy loads over long distances.

How Transmission Temperature Gauges Work

Transmission Temperature Gauges are all electronically driven and use the 1/8-27 NPT electronic temperature sensor to read and display your vehicle’s transmission temperature by installing directly to your transmission’s test port.

Transmission Line T-fitting Adapters are available to “T” into your Transmission Cooler Line for an effortless install. The installation will vary by application and may require additional threading adapters.
