How To Achieve Power Gains Without Taking Your Engine Apart

There are four basic elements that affect an engine’s performance:

  • Spark,
  • Fuel,
  • Air, and
  • Lubrication.

The timing, quality, and amount of those things make a big difference in how well the engine runs and how much power it makes.

Frankie Forman and Pat Topolinski make some adjustments and changes to ignition, timing, carburetors, air cleaners, and engine oil — some of these changes will make a strong improvement, and perhaps surprisingly, some of these changes won’t make much of a difference at all.
