Kenny Hauk’s wild western creation ~ Hauk .45 ~ aims to combine the gun-slinging history of the Colt .45 ~ the “gun that won the West” ~ with the old workhorse of the heartland, a vintage 1948 Willys pickup truck.
What began as a 1948 Willys pickup truck now features an 8-inch cab stretch with a 3-inch chop. The engine bay has been stretched 11 inches to accommodate the 12-valve Cummins diesel transplanted into the Willys.
The body features a custom faux aged finish, tail lights made from repurposed turn-of-the-century motorcycle headlights, reclaimed chicken-wire glass, an aged antique walnut bed, machined gun-cylinder bed rails, one-off shell casing lug nuts, and Colt .45 Peacemaker door handles.
