Diesel motorcycles are often associated with poor power-to-weight ratio, as most diesel engines are generally unsuited for what motorcycles are generally desired for: low weight, compact size, high RPMs and rapid acceleration.
While European NATO forces standardized all of their vehicles to operate with diesel fuel in the 1980s, commercially available diesel motorcycle are a rare bird. However, there are a few, the most well-known of which include the Royal Enfield Taurus, the Track T800CDI, and the Star Twin Thunder Star 1200 TDI.
