1938 Dodge Rat Rod Survived the Wild West to Roam the Streets

This 1938 Dodge bodied rat rod had been punished at one time with 100s of bullet holes. Somehow, it survived that barrage of hot lead to now sit atop a late model chassis and scoots around powered by a Chevy 4-bolt 350 engine mated to a TH350 slush-box. Power disc brakes give it plenty of whoa.

This car made a brief appearance on a dealer’s site (SM Classic Cars), and a compadre said it was once listed on eBay. It was listed with very little information: Very good running and driving car. Clear California title.

As far as we know, this bullet hole-laden rat rod first showed up in mid-2014 in and around Los Angeles, California with some reports putting it in Costa Mesa. We posted it on our Twitter account in 2015.
