Chopped 1931 Ford Model A Gasser ~ 8 Year Build in 8 Minutes

Rick, a fabricator at South Side Sleds Custom Cycles & Hot Rods recollects building his 1931 Ford Model A Gasser over the course of eight years.

The first step in this build was to build a floor structure to get the car together because one of the first things he wanted to do was chop the top. After much consideration, he ended up chopping the top 6 1/4 inches.

He then moved on to the chassis, settling on a wheelbase of 109 inches to accommodate a 1953 mercury Flathead topped with a 471 diesel blower (which was converted to gas) without the need to cut into the firewall.

The motor was bored 125 thousandths over which brought it from a 255 cubic inch to a 276 cubic inch power plant.

He fitted the chassis with a 1998 Chevy Blazer rear end and slipped a T5 transmission between it and the Flathead which he crafted the bell housing for.
