Which Bolt Extractor is Best?

Which bolt and screw extractor set is best? Project Farm tests:

  • Drill Hog,
  • Bosch,
  • Irwin Hanson,
  • Speed Out Pro,
  • Ryobi,
  • Grabit Pro,
  • Yosco,
  • TIAMAT,
  • Rennsteig, and
  • Cleveland.

Each screw/bolt extractor toolset was tested on damaged exterior screws and grade 5 bolts.

The extractors were tested for maximum torque load on screws and bolts until failure (broken extractor or broken screw) or loss of grip by the extractor.

Extractor durability and wear were evaluated under a microscope.
