Rattiest Dodge Charger Ever Gets Driven Like It Owes Me Money

This rolling deathtrap is a 1968 Dodge Charger whose former glory was as a dirt track race car but was retired in 1975.

The Charger was brought back to life a couple of years ago when it was transplanted onto a 2002 Lincoln Towncar with a 4.6 Liter V8.

Dylan McCool has purchased the car and flew to Greenville, South Carolina to get the car and then drove the beast 338 miles home.

“It’s worse than I thought. I love it.”

The car was purchased new in 1968 and driven until 1970 when the car was involved in an accident and scrapped. It then found its way to four seasons on the dirt track circuits from 1970 to 1974. In 1975, a new race car was acquired and this old racer was retired into a junkyard.

It sat in the junkyard until late 2018 when Robbie Ferrell found it and placed the body atop a low-mile Towncar chassis and drivetrain.

The Towncar’s 4.6 and a limited-slip rear-end make it a riot to drive. It’s got a full roll cage and no seatbelts but has heat and air plus a nice radio.
